On April 10, at the Sui Basecamp event in Paris, Meltem Demirors, head of Aspiring Cult, delivered a speech on the topic of "Trillion Market Opportunity: Everything on the Chain".
"Let's work backwards from the future to the present, where will the $100 trillion in infrastructure investment come from in 2040?"
She explained that from 2010 to 2024, the combined market capitalization of the world's top infrastructure companies has grown from $2 trillion to $16 trillion, and the structure has also changed significantly (the transition from finance to technology). In terms of trends, machines are growing, and the market around machines (such as energy, computing power, ID) is active. From the perspective of investment, we cannot detach ourselves from the physical laws of the real world, and hardware is still needed for data flow.
Combining these factors, Meltem believes that the new financial stack will incorporate blockchain networks. The Bitcoin network is already the most secure and independent financial network in the world, providing a good example of how the underlying protocol can make end users willing to pay for block space. The investment themes for the next decade will focus on energy, computing power networks and digital currencies.
