PANews news on January 18, according to PolkaWorld reports, Snowbridge developer Clara shared on the X platform that it has successfully passed Snowbridge to present a Cross-Chain Interaction transfer from Ethereum's Testnet Sepolia to Polkadot Testnet Rococo. This means that the current tests have been very successful and Snowbridge will soon be launched on the Kusama network.
It is reported that Snowbridge will be deployed on Kusama first, followed by Polkadot. The two deployments will be independent. Both deployments will bridge to the EthereumMainnet. There are currently no plans to bridge to other Ethereum networks. At launch, two-way transfers of Ethereum, ERC20 Tokens, DOT, and KSM will be supported. At the same time, there will be a client library that will allow third-party teams to build frontends around the bridge. After launch, it will follow future upgrades to implement more features requested by the community.
Snowbridge is a suite of libraries and services for trustless bridging between Ethereum and Polkadot. Snowbridge brings true innovation to Cross-Chain Interaction, not only for Polkadot, but also for the broader Blockchain ecosystem. It is the only Polkadot <>Ethereum bridge that is completely Decentralization and trustless. While many other Ethereum bridges already exist, they all compromise in some ways. Snowbridge is not only used to bridge assets, but also to bridge arbitrary states. This means that it is not limited to transferring Crypto Assets or Tokens, but can also handle a wider range of data and information types, such as cross-chain interaction messaging. Parachains have high demand for Ethereum bridges, and some chains have introduced more centralized bridges as a stopgap measure. However, without Snowbridge, these stopgap measures pose multiple systemic risks to the Polkadot ecosystem.
