It's strange. Since he is so clear about not liking this person, why not just replace him? Does the President of the United States have the authority to replace the Chairman of The Federal Reserve (FED)?

Trump criticizes Powell again: may consider replacing him, calls for immediate interest rate cuts to save trillions in spending.
Trump recently posted again on his social media platform Truth, criticizing Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, stating that he should decisively cut interest rates by one to two basis points to save the U.S. up to $1 trillion in expenses each year. He mentioned that he had tried to promote interest rate cuts through mild, neutral, and hard approaches in the past, but none were effective.
Trump also said, "Stop using future inflation risks as an excuse. There is no inflation right now, and even if it does appear in the future, we can raise rates in time." He criticized Powell as a "complete idiot" and indicated he might reconsider whether to replace him, but emphasized that Powell's term is about to end, so there is no need to rush. $ETH
