PANews, November 14th - Caldera, a Web3 infrastructure platform supported by Founders Fund, has acquired the Hook team to jointly build the Ethereum Rollup infrastructure platform Metalayer. The acquisition amount was not disclosed, following Caldera's $15 million Series A funding round completed in July. The Hook team, originally developing the Hook Odyssey protocol, focused on the perpetual futures market for Meme coins and Non-fungible Tokens, built on the Arbitrum Orbit framework, but the protocol has been shut down to allow the team to focus on Metalayer development. Caldera is a Rollup-as-a-Service platform that has helped over 50 projects create application-specific chains, including MANTA Pacific, Injective, and ApeChain. The Metalayer platform aims to optimize the development experience of multiple Rollup applications, enhance the collaboration between Optimistic and ZK Rollup frameworks, and unify Ethereum's scalability ecosystem.
