The V2 #hardfork is the biggest update in Sia's history.

The Sia Foundation has announced its biggest-ever update, the V2 hardfork, extending the activation timeline to ensure everyone can transition smoothly. The upgrade will roll out in two phases: Phase 1 around June 6 and Phase 2 around July 6. Alongside this, the team highlights new improvements to renterd and hostd, aiming to bolster data security and enhance the efficiency of decentralized cloud storage.

Siacoin will release Sia v.2.0 by the end of the year. Recent progress includes a usability overhaul for nontechnical users and the elimination of extended wait times for blockchain synchronization. Additional updates involve improvements to the renterd user experience, including batch operations, and the development of an upcoming SDK to facilitate the creation of mobile decentralized applications.

Siacoin is scheduled to host a community call on Reddit on June 18th at 17:00 UTC. The session will outline forthcoming branding developments.
