The Trump administration has requested American semiconductor software design companies to stop providing services to China.

Gate News bot reports that according to the Financial Times, several informed sources have stated that the U.S. Department of Commerce has requested that the so-called electronic design automation group (including Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens EDA) stop supplying technology to China.

The U.S. Department of Commerce, which is responsible for regulating export controls, has issued directives to these companies via letters. It is currently unclear whether every U.S. EDA company has received the letter. This move marks a significant new initiative by the U.S. government to curb China's ability to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips.
