Despite a strong performance at the end of June, cryptocurrency venture capital in the second quarter still fell by 22%.

Gate News bot message, in the second quarter, venture capital investment in encryption startups reached 4.5 billion dollars, a decrease of 22% compared to the previous three months. Data from DefiLlama shows that the monthly inflow in April was 1.29 billion dollars, in May it was 624 million dollars, and in June it was 2.5 billion dollars, with June's inflow being more than four times that of May. However, the total investment for this season is still below nearly 6 billion dollars for the first quarter of this year.

Notable transactions include $585 million from Twenty One Capital and $70 million from a16z's Eigen Labs. DeFi infrastructure and artificial intelligence-related projects attracted the most funding, with North American companies receiving the majority of the funds. The total investment amount year-to-date has reached approximately $10.3 billion, surpassing the $9.6 billion for the entire year of 2024.
