On July 10, Jin10 reported that Brazilian President Lula convened a ministerial meeting on Thursday to discuss the government's response to U.S. President Trump’s announcement of a 50% tariff on all imported goods from Brazil. The head of Lula's office stated that the government will establish a working group to determine how to respond. Lula met with the ministers on Wednesday evening and posted on social media that appropriate measures will be taken in response to the tariffs. Experts say these tariffs could have a significant impact on food prices in the U.S., as Brazil, a major agricultural power in South America, is a key supplier of products such as coffee, orange juice, sugar, beef, and ethanol to the United States.
