The World Health Organization has confirmed that Kenya has eliminated human African trypanosomiasis.

Jin10 reported on August 9 that the World Health Organization (WHO) issued a statement on the 8th in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, stating that Kenya has been verified to have eliminated African human sleeping sickness (also known as sleeping sickness). The WHO stated in the announcement that Kenya has continuously implemented prevention and control measures since the first case was discovered in the early 20th century, and has not reported any new local cases for over 10 years. The last local case was discovered in 2009, and the last two imported cases were discovered in 2012.
