Golden Finance reported that ENS Labs has proposed ENS v2 upgrade to migrate the service to Layer2 network. ENS Labs stated that ENS v2 aims to enhance scalability and reduce gas fees by moving core functions from the Ethereum mainnet to Layer2 chain. If the proposal is accepted, users will benefit from reduced transaction costs.
ENS Labs has not yet chosen a specific stack or Layer2 network for migration. However, after the migration is complete, the network will become a new platform for users to interact with ENS. The upgrade also introduces a new "layered registration system" to more effectively manage .eth domain names, including the management of subdomains and configuring resolvers.
