PANews July 18th news, according to Decrypt, Reddit announced that it will stop supporting its Collectible Expressions feature based on Polygon on August 5, 2024. This feature provides animated expressions for users' Collectible Avatars Non-fungible Tokens. Reddit stated that although these animations can still be seen in past comments, they will no longer be available in the future. Collectible Avatars is a series of Non-fungible Tokens based on the Polygon blockchain, which has been popular since its launch. So far, more than 33 million Collectible Avatars have been minted, with a market capitalization of 43 million US dollars. Reddit plans to continue supporting its Non-fungible Token ecosystem through new community partnerships and longer activities.
