Cloudflare: Global internet traffic is expected to rise 17.2% year on year in 2024, with the United States remaining the main source of BOT traffic.

On December 17, Jinshi Data reported that Cloudflare, a content delivery network service provider, released its annual Internet traffic trend report, revealing key changes and ongoing trends in global Internet traffic by 2024. The report shows that global Internet traffic rose by 17.2% YoY this year, and Google remains the most visited Internet service. The United States once again became the main source of global bot traffic (robot traffic, i.e., non-human-generated Internet traffic). The report points out that global traffic rose relatively steadily in the first half of 2024, but began to accelerate in mid-August and continued to rise until the end of November, eventually reaching a rise of 17.2% for the whole year. This rising pattern is similar to the trends in 2022 and 2023.
