Japanese Panasonic company falsified performance data of over 600 air conditioners

On December 27, Jinshi Data reported that on December 26th, local time, Panasonic Corporation of Japan stated that some of its commercial air conditioning products had falsified data on air conditioning performance. The company stated that 668 air conditioning units sold from 2012 to 2024 did not meet the indicated values in terms of actual performance. It is reported that as of 2024, out of the 2305 air conditioning units sold by the company, besides the confirmed 668 units with data falsification issues, the remaining 1637 units may also have similar problems. The investigation and confirmation work will continue until April 2025 at the latest.
