On March 10, ECB Governing Council member Kazmir said that in the face of persistent inflation risks, the ECB needs to keep an open mind on its next move. "In the coming weeks, we must carefully evaluate all the data that is about to be released and supplement what we have learned with careful judgment," Kazmir said. He also said that this flexibility means "keeping all options open, whether we decide to cut rates again or pause them". In an op-ed, Kazmir said, "While the inflation trend is encouraging, I'm still looking for undeniable evidence that the inflation pullback will continue." Now, he said, "is not the time to make decisions automatically or act hastily."
