Attention: A Renowned Application is Accused of Seizing the Cryptocurrency of Users Who Have Not Touched Their Holdings for 1 Year!

The Alby platform, popular among Bitcoin users, is accused of withdrawing funds from some inactive Bitcoin wallets without user permission, based on community feedback.

According to claims, all balances in shared wallets belonging to the old type (legacy) Alby accounts that have not had any transactions for 12 months were reset by Alby.

In the terms of use section on Alby's official website, it is stated that if shared wallets associated with old accounts created in 2023 and before are not used for transactions for 12 months, the remaining balances can be taken by the platform. Alby states that it implements this practice to "facilitate the management of inactive accounts."

The company claims that it has been informing users about this situation for a long time, while community members argue that sufficient and clear warnings have not been made. The controversial policy only covers inactive old Alby accounts and does not affect active accounts, Alby Hubs, fee credits, or other linked wallets.

Alby is known as a browser extension used to send and receive Bitcoin payments with a regular browser on the Bitcoin Lightning Network.
