With every move he makes, US President Donald Trump has made very special statements regarding the cryptocurrency sector.
In a special interview with NBC News, Donald Trump first spoke about the memecoin TRUMP, which is at the center of the discussions.
In an interview with Kristen Welker on NBC News' Meet the Press program, Trump, who denied making a profit from the token named after him, TRUMP, claimed that he has never looked at cryptocurrency.
Trump denied making a profit from the TRUMP token despite blockchain data showing he earned around $900,000 in transaction fees following news of the dinner he would give to token holders.
However, Trump also admitted that he did not check whether he made a profit.
Program host Welker asked Trump, "So you're not making any profit from cryptocurrency?" Trump responded to this question, "Actually, I haven't even looked at it" and continued his remarks:
"But let me tell you this. Look, if I own a share of something and I do a good job and the market goes up, I think I'm making a profit."
During the interview, Trump stated that he could donate his presidential salary back to the government. In response, Welker asked if he would also donate from potential cryptocurrency gains.
Trump said, "I never thought of that. So, if my profits increase a bit because I am president and doing a good job, should I donate all my real estate that I have owned for years? I don't think so."
We Must Take the Lead on Cryptocurrencies Ahead of China!
