According to Deep Tide TechFlow news, on May 10, Crypto Briefing reported that BlackRock expanded its disclosures regarding the potential risks of Quantum Computing in the revised prospectus for its iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT). The revised prospectus submitted on May 9 elaborates on how advancements in Quantum Computing could undermine the cryptographic security of Bitcoin. The document points out that advancements in Quantum Computing technology could weaken the viability of many cryptographic algorithms used globally, including those that protect digital assets such as Bitcoin. Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart stated that such disclosures are standard practice in SEC documents in the United States. At the same time, BlackRock also revised its iShares Ethereum Trust documents, adding provisions for physical creation/redemption.
