According to Techub News, ZKSync stated in a post on X that, in light of recent actions taken by U.S. regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Treasury and the SEC, ZKSync has confirmed receipt of notifications regarding investigations into activities involving zkEVM-based applications accessible to U.S. users. Furthermore, preliminary notifications indicate that sanctions and enforcement actions may be taken against certain entities operating within the ZKSync ecosystem, accusing them of violating U.S. securities laws, AML/KYC compliance regulations, and evading sanctions. In response, ZKSync stated that while it operates as a decentralized protocol, it acknowledges that these developments may impact user access, liquidity provision, and developer operations within the jurisdiction of the U.S. It advises U.S. projects and users to suspend high-risk DeFi and bridging-related activities while awaiting further clarification. Additionally, ZKSync has engaged in discussions with key partners and infrastructure providers to assess risks and ensure the integrity of the protocol.
