Abstract generation in progress

Switzerland is implementing a plan to automatically share cryptocurrency-related data with 74 partner countries, including the United Kingdom and EU countries.

The Swiss government has passed a bill allowing for automatic exchange of information (AEOI) regarding cryptocurrency on June 6. This proposal also includes sharing data with most G20 countries, but does not apply to the United States, Saudi Arabia, and China. The bill is currently under discussion in Parliament and will come into effect on January 1, 2026, if approved. The first data exchange is expected to take place in 2027. The Federal Council will also review whether partner countries continue to meet AEOI standard requirements.
