OpenSea reaches the highest monthly user count since 2023
Last month, OpenSea recorded the highest number of monthly active users since mid-2023, with 467,322 users conducting transactions in May. June is forecasted to reach a similar or higher number with 236,091 current users.
Despite the renewed interest, monthly trading volume is still much lower than in 2021 and early 2022. Last month, the trading volume reached 81 million USD, while in January 2022 it peaked at over 5 billion USD.
The increase in users may be due to the launch of OS2 on May 29 and expectations for rewards. OpenSea O2 now allows trading on 19 different chains and has a new reward system called Voyages. Users also hope that their participation will affect the future airdrop of the SEA token.
