Israel attacks Iran, oil surges, Bitcoin plummets, nearly 1 billion USD positions liquidated

Israel has carried out airstrikes targeting Iran, according to disclosures from two American officials to NBC News. These officials assert that the United States is not involved in the operation.

This event has caused a stir in the global market. The price of crude oil futures surged more than 5% on Thursday night:

  • WTI oil from America increased by 3.94 USD (+5.79%) to 72.04 USD/barrel
  • Brent oil increased by 3.87 USD (+5.58%) to 73.23 USD/barrel

Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency market is in a state of heavy sell-off. Bitcoin has lost 4% in the past 24 hours, currently trading around 103,000 USD. Major altcoins like Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) are also plummeting.

Of this, Long positions accounted for up to 945 million USD. The largest liquidation occurred on the Binance exchange with the BTCUSDT pair, worth 201 million USD – a huge figure reflecting extreme selling pressure.

"After the preemptive attack by the Israeli state on Iran, a missile and drone attack targeting Israel and civilians is expected to occur in the near future.

Therefore, in accordance with his authority under the Civil Defense Act, Minister Katz signed a special decree imposing a state of special emergency across the entire domestic front of Israel.

Citizens must comply with directives from the Ministry of National Defense and relevant authorities, and stay in the protected area.

Earlier in the week, President Donald Trump announced that he would withdraw some American personnel from the Middle East, while emphasizing that "this area could become dangerous." He also affirmed that America would never allow Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
