Polygon co-founder and part of the team split to establish the independent zero-knowledge project ZisK.

Techub News, Polygon co-founder Jordi Baylina tweeted that his personal and zkEVM core team have officially operated independently, and the new project is named ZisK. The individual will remain a Polygon co-founder and serve as an advisor, but the focus will shift to ZisK.

ZisK will focus on developing low-latency, open-source zkVM verification technology. The project has been incubated internally at Polygon Labs since May 2024 and completed its independent spin-off on June 13. According to the spin-off agreement, all intellectual property rights and the core team of Polygon zkEVM have been transferred to SilentSig GmbH, a Swiss company wholly owned by Baylina.
