The United States is about to announce the Consumer Price Index for July (CPI) data, which has sparked widespread attention in the market. Recently, a series of tariff measures implemented by the U.S. has raised concerns about the possibility of further price rises. However, interestingly, although tariffs do lead to an increase in commodity prices, the inflation rate in the U.S. for the second quarter of this year is actually not high, remaining below 3%.

The Purchasing Managers' Index released by S&P Global ( PMI ) indicates that prices may exhibit a rising trend in the second half of this year. Therefore, the upcoming July CPI data is particularly important. The market will closely follow whether the inflation rate in July really accelerates its pump. This data will undoubtedly become an important reference for the Federal Reserve's decision-making, as they are weighing whether to adjust the current monetary policy.

Currently, the Federal Reserve is facing a dilemma. The volatility of inflation rates makes them more cautious in policy-making, hesitant to make significant adjustments, and they can only temporarily maintain a wait-and-see attitude. For ordinary people, the most concerning issue is that the cost of daily living does not rise excessively, and it would be even better if wages could increase correspondingly. However, from the current situation, it seems that for a period of time in the future, consumers may need to prepare a larger budget for daily necessities when shopping at the supermarket.

The upcoming CPI data will not only relate to the domestic economy of the United States but will also have a significant impact on global financial markets. It will provide us with important clues about inflation trends, consumer purchasing power, and potential changes in monetary policy. Regardless of the outcome, it will serve as a key indicator for assessing the health of the U.S. economy.
