Walmart is experimenting with generative AI tools and will launch three functions including shopping assistant and AI-driven generative search
According to a Techcrunch report on October 5, Walmart is experimenting with generative artificial intelligence tools and will launch three functions including a shopping assistant, artificial intelligence-driven generative search and interior design functions.
Walmart declined to say which AI models it is using to develop these features, but said it is using a variety of different external models and that they may change over time. A Walmart spokesperson said: “Every other company is basically working with Anthropic or OpenAI, and we want to be able to have the flexibility to put different models in and out.” The new shopping assistant will be launched in the next few weeks, which will give customers more An interactive and conversational experience as it can answer specific questions, provide personalized product recommendations and share details about specific products.
As previously reported, Walmart announced that it will provide artificial intelligence-generated applications to approximately 50,000 non-store employees.
