Bitcoin example from the Head of the Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Aşan

Head of the Finance Office of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey Prof. Dr. Göksel Aşan also touched upon crypto assets at the Future of Finance Summit. Aşan said that crypto assets are no longer an area that can be taken over and eliminated.

Aşan said:

"I also saw the issue of crypto assets as a serious threat to the system. In fact, from my point of view, I was hopeful that something would come out of this and that the other side would spruce itself up a bit. They are trying to do what they can and somehow strangle them, but we have also seen that... From the point of view of the rulemakers, Bitcoin is now $42,000, even though the entire financial system is going against it with all the power at its disposal. That is, they reduced it from 60 to 42. They couldn't make zero. It was done once, they tried, but now they can't. And it's no longer an area that can be taken over or eliminated."

Underlining that financial technologies are an area that needs to be put in a separate place, thought about separately and developed as an alternative way due to this potential, Aşan said, "We are doing our best in this regard. Hopefully, we will announce the strategy document in the second or third week of January. The strategy document is finished, but it is only a matter of time when we will announce it. It was a very comprehensive study. There are tasks assigned to many institutions, but some of our institutions started to do those tasks without us publishing them. Hopefully, we will make rapid progress in that area. I recommend that all players in this sector look at this field of financial technologies from this point of view."
