Bitcoin ETF Approval Date May Have Been Announced: Here's That Day That Fox Reporter Pointed Out!
In the United States, the first spot Bitcoin ETF in the US is expected to be approved by January 10, 2024, given the timeframe followed by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) officials in previous ETF approvals.
According to Fox Business reporter Eleanor Terrett, the SEC has yet to review changes to forms S-1 filed before the Dec. 29, 2023 filing deadline. As Koinfinans.com reported, the SEC has set a deadline for filers to make final changes to their applications. After the review, SEC officials are expected to comment on S-1 forms. BlackRock, Invesco, Valkyrie, VanEck, Wisdomtree, Fidelity, and ARK 21Shares are among the companies vying for spot Bitcoin ETF approval.
So, given the approval timeline that the SEC followed when approving ETH futures in October 2023, the review of S-1 forms could likely take until early next week, i.e., January 8, 2024. In addition, Terrett said SEC staff have been on leave since Dec. 29, 2023. Overall, it seems likely that the ETF approval will take place on Tuesday or Wednesday, which is January 9 or 10, 2024.
Therefore, the possibility of a Bitcoin ETF** approval seems unlikely before January 6, 2024. Meanwhile, BTC Price has made a good start to 2024, with a jump of about 5% compared to 24 hours ago.
