Michael Saylor Sells His Shares: It Has Been Claimed That He Will Buy Bitcoin!
Michael Saylor, one of the leading names in the cryptocurrency and investment world, recently filed to sell his 315,000 shares in MicroStrategy (MTSR). The community, on the other hand, has expanded its speculation that it will buy Bitcoin.
The transaction was disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, detailing that these shares should be sold on the NASDAQ stock exchange on January 2.
According to the filing, the shares sold were purchased as part of stock option exercises and rewards that ran from April 2014 to early January.
As Koinfinans.com reported, while MicroStrategy came to the fore with its Bitcoin investments, the fact that the share sale in question came just before the approval of a possible BTC ETF triggered many speculations.
Between Nov. 30 and Dec. 26, the company purchased 14,620 Bitcoins worth $615.7 million, bringing its total holdings to BTC 189,150. The average value of these assets is around $5.9 billion.
MicroStrategy's bold approach to Bitcoin investment began in August 2020 with a strategic shift to adopt BTC as its primary treasury reserve. This strategy also included leveraging financial tactics, such as zero-interest loans, to boost the BTC's portfolio.
One of the ongoing speculations in the community is, of course, the claim that Michael Saylor is buying more Bitcoin. However, there is no official statement or data on this.
