Claim: Bitcoin Inventor's Emails Praise This Crypto!
In a fascinating revelation from the early days of cryptocurrency, a 2009 email exchange has emerged showing Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto praising the Ripple project. This exchange allegedly includes Martti 'Sirius' Malmi, who was an active Bitcoin developer from 2009 to 2011 and played a key role in the initial development and growth of Bitcoin, and Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous inventor of Bitcoin. Here are the details…
Bitcoin founder's emails revealed
Earlier this week, Malmi made public these personal communications with Nakamoto amid a legal battle in the UK over the true identity of Bitcoin's creator. The case involves the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), a consortium of companies in the crypto industry that aims to prevent patent litigation and provide open access to patented crypto technologies.
They dispute the claims of Australian computer scientist Craig Wright, who controversially claimed to be Nakamoto, the pseudonymous individual or group credited with creating Bitcoin and laying the foundation for blockchain technology.
Ripple has praise
The correspondence between Nakamoto and Malmi covered various Bitcoin-related topics, such as the inflation schedule, the total coin supply, “denominations” and the concept of fractional Bitcoin. Nakamoto provided information about Bitcoin's scalability and its ability to process large numbers of transactions instantly without the need for transaction fees.
Malmi's previous statements
In a July 2018 interview, Malmi, known as the first programmer to directly collaborate with Bitcoin's enigmatic founder, talked about his initial involvement in the project. Starting out as a novice developer in college in 2009, Malmi quickly became an influential figure in Bitcoin's formative years. He was the only active developer to work closely with Satoshi, developing a relationship bordering on friendship.
