Ethereum Comment from the Former President of SEC: "Inevitable" - Koin Newsletter

**Jay Clayton, former president of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), weighed in on the spot Ethereum ETF.

The former SEC president said that the decisions taken so far for spot Ethereum ETF have been in their favor and that their entry into the market is inevitable".

Clayton said it's a two-step process, adding, "First there's listing approval, which is what happened yesterday, and then the product itself is approved, which is still there."

"I think that means it's **inevitable," Clayton said. We went through the same process in Bitcoin product and all or most of the question marks were eliminated. Technically speaking, the question mark that disappeared yesterday was whether the market was **enough****ing enough for these products to be listed on the stock exchange. This has been decided, but there are still other question marks," he said.

Although SEC has declared that Bitcoin is a commodity**, it has not made a clear decision on whether Ethereum is a security or a commodity.
