Sydney Sweeney's account has been hacked: Memecoin fraud is not over yet!

Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney's X account was hacked, scammers marketed the memecoin SWEENEY to the famous actress's 1 million followers.

Sydney Sweeney's X (formerly known as Twitter) account was hacked on Tuesday, July 2nd. Scammers seeking to take advantage of the recent trend of celebrities endorsing memecoins released a memecoin named SWEENEY on the Solana blockchain.

The star of the highly watched Euphoria and White Lotus series, SWEENEY, managed to accumulate a trading volume of 13 million dollars in less than an hour.

Sweeney's account featured many posts about cryptocurrency. The famous actor was referred to as the 'Queen of the Left' and made references to names like Sahil Arora, known as a memecoin marketer.

It was possible for the crypto community to be skeptical of the posts made from the famous actor's X account. Indeed, in recent weeks, many celebrities, including 50 Cent and Hulk Hogan, were targeted by meme coin scammers.

Furthermore, Sweeney was subjected to another X attack related to crypto earlier this year. In January, hackers used the actress's account to promote a sexuality-themed Solana memecoin. However, memecoin hunters still did not remain indifferent to this development. Some thought they could profit from the chaos, despite knowing that the memecoin was launched by hackers.

As with other famous memecoins under the control of scammers, SWEENEY's price skyrocketed over 2,500% in the first 15 minutes and then dropped back to zero in the next hour. However, the trading volume of SWEENEY reached an incredible amount of 13.6 million dollars in a short period of time.

The meme coin gang is targeting famous names one by one

Sweeney retrieved his X account and deleted all posts related to memecoin. No public statement has been made about the attack. The events became even more complicated when the hackers clearly admitted to hacking Sweeney's token Telegram account and claimed to have hacked the accounts of other celebrities such as 50 Cent and Hulk Hogan.

Hackers have already moved on to the next move. In Telegram channels, they wrote that they plan to hack an even 'more popular' celebrity than Sweeney soon. Scammers addressing investors announced that they could participate in the token's presale by safely sending at least 5 SOL (762 dollars) to an anonymous Solana wallet.
