The UK government confiscated and sold altcoins from drug sales.
The UK has found Jack Finney guilty of selling deadly drugs called "weight loss pills". Finney returned the 23,000 euros he earned from the sale of this drug to the government.
The individual received some of the payments through the Deep Web platform and in Monero (XMR). For this reason, he handed over 15 thousand euros to the government in XMR.
The government sold these XMR assets through the Food Standards Agency (FSA) for 15,000 euros.
The rest of the money came from the sale of Finney's Suzuki Vitara SUV for €6,240 and €1,775 in cash.
Crown Prosecution Service Chief Prosecution Officer Adrian Foster said:
