Unlocking 1 Billion Worth of Altcoins in August: Pay Attention to These Coins! - Coin Bulletin

Within this month, locked tokens worth approximately 900 million dollars will be released in 14 altcoins.

According to Token Unlocks data, approximately $900 million worth of locked tokens will be released in 6 different projects, including popular projects such as Wormhole (W), Optimism (OP), ApeCoin (APE), and Aptos (APT), between August 1-31. The unlocking event, which varies percentage-wise for each project, has the potential to create selling pressure.

In general, the release of more than %1 of the circulating supply of tokens during unlocking has a significant negative impact on the price.

In this regard, the high ratios that will be opened in the coming weeks, specifically for W, ZETA, SAND, ApeCoin, Optimism, and dYdX, are of great importance.

The list of assets to be released is as follows:

• dYdX (DYDX): The lock of 6.5 million assets, worth $13.9 million, will be released as of August 4, 06:00 GMT. 0.65% of the total supply and 3.48% of the circulating supply will be freed.
• ZetaChain (ZETA): 33.49 million dollars worth of 6.4 million assets will be unlocked as of 03.00 on 12 August 2021. 0.45% of the total supply, 2.15% of the circulating supply will be released.
• Wormhole (W): 158 million dollars worth 600 million units of assets will be unlocked as of August 15, 13:00 GMT. 0.90% of the total supply and 1.73% of the circulating supply will be released.
• ApeCoin (APE): The lock of the asset, valued at 34.8 million dollars and consisting of 15.6 million units, will be released as of 03:00 on August 17th, Turkish Standard Time (TSİ). 1.56% of the total supply and 4.23% of the circulating supply will be unlocked.
• The SandBox (SAND): 20.9 million dollars worth of 3.4 million locked assets will be released as of 22 August 16:10 (TSI). 1.27% of the total supply, 2.96% of the circulating supply will be released.
• Optimism (OP): 32.1 million dollars worth of 24.1 million locked assets will be released as of 07:00 on August 30th, GMT. 0.56% of total supply, 3.74% of circulating supply will be released.

Even though there is a general consensus of selling pressure in lock unlocks, the situation does not always occur that way. Especially in projects where lock unlock rates are low, increases can be seen.
