Donald Trump has Decided: Giving Department to Crypto-Friendly Name - Coin Bulletin

US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated hedge fund manager and cryptocurrency enthusiast Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.

If this nomination is approved by the Senate, the person whose signature is on the US paper money will be someone with a great interest in the digital currency ecosystem.

Bessent manages the macro investment firm called Key Square Group. Bessent, who started his career with renowned investor George Soros, is known for the famous bet that Soros Fund Management made against the British pound, which resulted in profits of over 1 billion dollars.

Recently, however, Bitcoin (BTC) and the cryptocurrency sector have been on Bessent's radar.

"Crypto economy is permanent"

Scott Bessent expressed his satisfaction with Trump's interest in cryptocurrencies in an interview he gave to Fox Business in July.

"I am excited about Trump embracing crypto and I think it is very compatible with the ethos of the Republican Party. Crypto is about freedom and the crypto economy is here to stay. Crypto is involving young people and those who have not participated in the markets."
