Losses Continue in Bitcoin and Ethereum Spot ETFs! Here are the Latest Movements in the Data!
The cryptocurrency market experienced significant outflows from spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on January 8, signaling potential shifts in investor sentiment amid ongoing market fluctuations.
Significant outflows were seen in Bitcoin and Ethereum Spot ETFs on January 8th.
Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a total net outflow of 583 million dollars on January 8th, and three major funds carried out most of the withdrawal transactions:
IBIT: $124 million exit
FBT: 258 million dollar exit
ARKB: $148 million worth of exit
This large-scale withdrawal of funds indicates a decrease in institutional or large-scale retail exposure to Bitcoin during a period of market uncertainty and price corrections.
Ethereum spot ETFs also saw significant outflows, totaling 159 million dollars. The FETH fund accounted for the majority with a net outflow of 147 million dollars.
These declines occurred as Bitcoin fell below $100,000 earlier this week and Ethereum continued to face downward pressure.
Analysts point to macroeconomic concerns, including long-term inflation fears and fluctuating regulatory sensitivity, as potential contributors to withdrawal transactions.
Investors are likely re-evaluating their positions in crypto-backed ETFs in the midst of increased market volatility that has led to significant liquidations and changing asset valuations in recent days.
The ongoing upward trend may continue to shape the market in the short term and participants can closely monitor it.
