The ETF Store's president Nate Geraci made bold predictions about cryptocurrency ETFs and predicted a transformative change in the new Trump administration.

Geraci predicts 2025 as the "Year of Crypto ETFs," referring to a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment and significant changes in leadership at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Geraci believes that the Trump administration will take a significantly different stance on digital assets than his predecessor. He mentions that the appointment of crypto advocate Paul Atkins as SEC Chairman is expected and a new 'crypto czar' role to be filled by Silicon Valley veteran David Sacks. Under Sacks' leadership, it is reported that a crypto advisory council consisting of industry leaders will help shape the administration's digital asset policies.

In this context, Geraci made ten important predictions for the crypto currency ETF market:

  1. Bitcoin Spot ETFs Will Surpass Gold ETFs: Geraci predicts that with the increasing institutional and retail interest in Bitcoin, spot Bitcoin ETFs will surpass physical gold ETFs in terms of asset size.
  2. Spot Ethereum ETF Options Trading: Approval for Ethereum ETF options trading seems on the horizon, signaling greater flexibility for investors.
  3. Creation/Redemption in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs: Regulatory changes may facilitate the creation and redemption processes in the ETF market.
  4. Ethereum Staking ETFs: It is expected that spot Ethereum ETFs with staking capability will emerge, bringing a new dimension to crypto ETFs.
  5. Launch of Innovative ETFs: Bitwise is expected to launch the Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF, which focuses on companies adopting the "Bitcoin standard" with assets exceeding 1 billion dollars.
  6. Increasing Number of Crypto ETFs: Geraci predicts that at least 50 ETFs related to cryptocurrencies will be released, from option-based products to Bitcoin bond ETFs.
  7. Spot Solana ETFs: Approval of Solana spot ETFs is expected.
  8. Spot XRP ETFs: Regulatory approval is also expected for Spot XRP ETFs.
  9. Crypto Index ETFs: Bitwise and Grayscale are likely to get approval for crypto index ETFs.
  10. Vanguard's Entry into Crypto ETFs: Vanguard, known for its conservative approach, may finally allow access to spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.

Geraci noted that much of this progress depends on regulatory clarity, particularly regarding whether digital assets are classified as securities or commodities. This clarity is expected to define the jurisdiction of the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
