TikTok Memecoin Crisis: Trump Supporter Responds to Rug Pull Allegations - Koin Bülteni
Ryan Fournier, a conservative activist and one of the founders of the Students for Trump movement, faced harsh criticism for selling half of a memecoin created to celebrate the lifting of the TikTok ban.
TIKTOK token, after Fournier's sale, experienced a significant loss of value and sparked a heated debate within the community.
Fournier said that the idea of creating a memecoin emerged with Asta, a memecoin investor, after TikTok was reopened in the US. He stated that Asta created the token and sent 50% of the supply to Fournier.
The token quickly reached a market cap of $90 million. However, when the price started to fall, Fournier sold all of his holdings to raise around $700,000 worth of SOL.
Big Reaction in the Community
After the sale, Asta criticized Fournier in a post and said, "I sent 50% of the TIKTOK token supply to Fournier. I just wanted to start a movement. But he sold all the tokens I sent. Now I don't even know what to say."
Fournier, on the other hand, responded to these criticisms, admitting that the sale was a mistake but claiming that he suffered a loss. "I don't think I'm profiting from it, I'm almost in a negative spot," he said. He also said that he was willing to pay his debt to the community, saying, "If I have to give you $50,000, I'll find a way to do it."
"I was wrong and This is My Faulty Decision"
Fournier explained his confusion during the TIKTOK token sale with these words: "I thought I would make $50 million in one day. I was planning not to sell the tokens, but the situation didn't seem realistic to me. The price started to drop rapidly, and I didn't know what its creator was doing. I made a mistake, it was entirely my fault."
While Fournier claims that the creator cheated him, Asta's wallet movements show that he did not sell TIKTOK tokens. As the community questions the truth behind the incident, the management of this crisis by Fournier is a matter of curiosity.
