The announcement of a meme coin based on Solana by Semler Scientific President Eric Semler on X has raised suspicions of hacking, and the related posts have been removed.
Lately, President Eric Semler of medical giant Semler Scientific, who frequently follows in the footsteps of MicroStrategy and is in the spotlight with Bitcoin purchases, has raised suspicions of hacking due to the sharing of posts from his X account about the launch of a meme coin based on Solana (SOL).
In the shares made from Semler's X account, it is claimed that a meme coin with the same symbol as Semler Scientific's shares traded on Nasdaq was launched on Solana.
The token price experienced a pump-dump
It has been observed that a new token trading under the symbol SMLR has been launched on the decentralized exchange (DEX) Raydium based on Solana, simultaneously with the announcements. The token experienced a significant value increase of 300 percent in the first trading hours.
However, the rapid and sharp drop in the token price and the lack of any official confirmation from the authorities about the matter raised suspicions that it could be a fraud attempt. The subsequent removal of the relevant posts from Eric Semler's X account further confirms the hacking suspicions for now.
