Spot Litecoin ETF Under SEC Review Added to DTCC List! - What Does It Mean?

SEC has recently accepted to evaluate XRP, Solana, and Litecoin ETFs, while a new move has come from the LTC ETF front.

According to this, Canary's spot Litecoin ETF has been included in DTCC's ETF list. Previously, Nasdaq's 19b-4 application for the Canary Litecoin ETF was published in the Federal Register on February 4 and is currently under SEC review.

Canary Litecoin ETF has been given the LTCC code at DTCC.

DTCC listing is generally considered a positive signal for an ETF that is considering being launched into the market. At this point, analysts noted that approval for a Litecoin ETF would make Litecoin the first cryptocurrency to have an ETF launched after Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) plays a very important role in the American ETF market. When an ETF is added to the DTCC list, it means that a broker-dealer has requested a DTCC name for the ETF fund in question and that DTCC may perform this transaction at an unspecified future date following SEC approval.

However, analysts noted that listing an ETF with DTCC is part of the preparation process and that the final approval of the SEC is required for the ETF to be launched. So being listed is not indicative of success for any pending regulatory or other approval processes.

This file includes active ETFs that can be traded on DTCC, as well as inactive ( 'pre-launch') ETFs. Such securities do not become active until they receive all necessary regulatory and other approvals.

Analysts also noted that the Litecoin price rose with the expectation of a potential LTC ETF launch.
