Ethena, the crypto project behind one of the fastest-growing dollar-pegged digital assets, has raised $100 million in funding to expand its presence in traditional finance.

Ethena has Raised $100 Million to Expand Crypto Stablecoin Offerings

According to sources familiar with the matter, the fundraising completed in December had not been previously disclosed and attracted major investors including Franklin Templeton and Fidelity Investments' venture arm, F-Prime Capital.

Ethena operates two important digital assets. ENA, a governance token that gives owners decision-making power in the protocol, and USDe, a stablecoin that has rapidly grown since its launch a year ago and has become one of the world's largest.

New capital represents an important step in Ethena's expansion strategy, supporting the introduction of a similar stablecoin specifically designed for corporate finance.

As the stablecoin market continues to evolve, Ethena aims to fill the gap between crypto natives and traditional financial institutions by offering a regulated and scalable digital dollar alternative.

A $100 million increase underscores the growing interest of institutional investors in blockchain-based financial infrastructure and the increasing role of stablecoins in the global economy.
