Abstract generation in progress

CBOE, Fidelity has officially applied to the SEC for the Ethereum ETF to be able to stake.

Recently, as the popularity of Ethereum (ETH) ETFs has been increasing, a critical move came from Fidelity, which manages 4.9 trillion dollars. In the application made to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by the CBOE exchange, it was requested to add staking feature for Fidelity Ethereum ETF. If **SEC approves the application, Fidelity investors will be able to earn extra income by including their ETH assets in the staking mechanism within the ETF.

In the past, many financial giants including BlackRock and Fidelity removed the staking feature from ETF applications due to pressure from the SEC. However, with a change in administration in the US, a more lenient approach from the SEC towards cryptocurrencies is expected. It is noted that the Trump administration was particularly favorable towards proof-of-stake (PoS)-based cryptocurrencies. Fidelity's application is considered a critical move that could pave the way for staking-enabled ETFs.

The ability of Ethereum ETFs to gain staking feature can enable investors to benefit not only from the price increase of Ethereum through ETFs, but also from the staking returns. This can make ETFs more attractive and increase institutional investor interest in the Ethereum ecosystem.

In the past, significant increases have been seen in the prices of staking protocols like Lido (LDO) with similar developments, while the price of Ethereum had also quickly risen due to these news.
