Amjad Bseisu, CEO of Enquest, a British oil company, said at the World Economic Forum that unlike the United States, the windfall tax imposed on energy companies in the United States is causing irreversible damage to the energy industry. He said that since the last budget, about six companies have left or decided to leave the UK. Bseisu said that the UK is actually slowing down investment, causing the energy industry to stagnate. He said that although the company is increasing its investment in Asia, considering that tax credits offset the impact of increased taxes, the company still considers listing in London to be valuable.
