A Gold Ten Data report on January 30th states that although many setbacks to the economy in recent times have come from outside the eurozone, there are also some that are caused by the eurozone itself. Data shows that due to the political deadlock, which has hit the confidence of businesses and consumers, as well as the fading of the summer Olympics, the French economy shrank in the last few months of last year. Germany (the largest economy in the eurozone) has suffered from consecutive contractions for the second year in a row, which is dragging down the eurozone, while the eurozone is preparing to face new challenges in 2025. The latest data shows that the German economy shrank by 0.2% in the fourth quarter of last year, while Italy, the third largest economy, remained stagnant.
