CEO Yaccarino of X has resigned, and executives from xAI and Tesla have also left! Musk's political turmoil continues to escalate.

Linda Yaccarino, the CEO of Musk's social platform X, announced her resignation this morning on 7/10. Following this, the technical executives of xAI and TSL also consecutively resigned. Whether this wave of executive departures is related to Musk's recent political turmoil has attracted public attention.

Yaccarino takes over the aftermath, repeatedly defending Musk and X's radical statements.

Yaccarino took over during the internal turmoil when Twitter was renamed X, and Musk laid off about 75% of the staff. At that time, many advertisers were concerned that their brand content would be affected by hate speech and violent content on the platform. Yaccarino's main task is to stabilize the advertising business and rebuild corporate trust.

However, this "advertising crisis" remains unresolved. According to reports, X's advertising revenue plummeted by 50% in 2023, and that same year Musk retweeted "anti-Semitic remarks," prompting several brands to suspend their cooperation with X. Musk even confronted advertisers at an event, saying:

"Fuck you, if you don't advertise, then forget it!"

Nevertheless, Yaccarino repeatedly defended Musk and X during her tenure, including responding to criticisms about the increase of violent content, anti-Semitic remarks, and misinformation on X. After Musk's anti-Semitic comments surfaced, Yaccarino still wrote to internal staff, urging them:

"The values we uphold cannot be priced, and we will never compromise."

xAI's acquisition of X and the constant cursing issue with Grok, Yaccarino has long had the intention to leave.

In March this year, Musk announced that his AI startup xAI officially swallowed X, with a merger valuation of 33 billion USD.

Although Yaccarino is nominally still the CEO of X, she is actually not involved in the overall operations of the parent company "xAI Holdings", indicating that her power has been diminished.

Grok has been embroiled in multiple controversies regarding statements, and Yaccarino has long had intentions to leave.

Just in the same week that she announced her resignation, xAI's AI chatbot Grok was involved in several incidents of inappropriate comments, including vulgar remarks targeting Jews and Polish political figures. The Turkish government even warned of a possible ban on the platform, and Poland has called for the EU to intervene in the investigation. It is understood that Yaccarino had intentions to resign even before this wave of Grok's controversial statements, with no direct connection to this incident.

The political turmoil surrounding Musk continues, and executives from xAI and TSL have also resigned one after another.

Just an hour after Yaccarino announced his resignation, the CEO of the American investment firm Azoria Partners also revealed that the Vice President of Software Engineering at TSL and the Infrastructure Engineering Director at xAI have also resigned.

In this regard, Partners stated that Musk's "founding" actions have clearly affected external confidence in the future of TSL, and they are calling for the board to immediately convene a meeting to demand Musk explain whether the founding plan is still compatible with his role as CEO. At the same time, they warned Musk:

If you can't focus on the TSL business, you need to consider passing the baton!

The picture shows that one hour after Yaccarino announced his resignation, TSL and xAI also saw senior executives leaving. Whether Musk's tech empire is on the verge of collapse remains to be seen.

Since Musk supported Trump in the U.S. presidential election earlier this year and took on the role of government efficiency department (DOGE) to cut spending, followed by a fallout with Trump over the "Big and Beautiful" tax plan, he then announced the establishment of the "American Party" to balance the power of the two parties. This series of political moves made the internal executives feel that Musk has begun to "lose focus" and is unable to balance business operations, leading many to leave. Whether Musk's tech empire is on the verge of collapse remains to be seen.
