According to Jinse Finance, as reported by CCTV News, amid increasing criticism from officials in the Trump administration regarding the operation of the Fed, Fed Chairman Powell has requested the U.S. Central Bank's Inspector General to review the costs associated with the renovation of the Fed's headquarters building. A knowledgeable source revealed that this request was made to Fed Inspector General Michael Horowitz over the weekend. Previously, White House Office of Management and Budget Director Vought sent a letter to Powell last week, stating that Trump is "extremely concerned" about the cost overruns of this $2.5 billion project. The Fed outlined the challenges faced in comprehensively restoring the Mariner Eccles building and its adjacent properties in materials published on its website.
